cant, I need them to work... you can only mold lenses that you intend to paint over - there is no way to mold in and keep the lens functional.

Besides, on the reverse I do need to be able to remove - I have running lights wired in there (with the reverse lights) and need easier access than while on trunk.

So on your car you don't need to take out the tails to take off the bumper? I have to on mine.

OC, that came out incredible! If you have some ime, could you post some UNprofessional shots? It looks too flawless!

take a closer look at my car... if I ever need to remove the bumper, the tails aren't the only issue...

Unless I get in an accident, bumper and taillights would never need to come off the car. If I do get in an accident, things need to be fixed anyway so cutting the molded stuff to remove everything is no big deal.

I think people confusing the molded pieces for sheet metal welded in or something... it's just body work - it can all be re-done

But what you gonna do if a tailight is damaged? Doesn't look like it will come out without 'breaking' some paint.

it's been addressed multiple times, in this thread and others... in fact - within the last several posts and pages.

But I'll address it again - it is not likely (if fact, almost impossible) for the taillight to be damaged without the bumper and/or quarter panel being damaged as well... in that event lots of things will need to be removed and repaired or possibly replaced.

Lets say the entire rear was stock and I got rear ended - damaging the taillights... I would need to have a body shop r/r the bumper, taillight and possibly quarter panel... If the same thing happened now - the result would be the same.

As far as just the taillights and nothing else ever needing to be repaired or replaced - its is so unlikely that I wont even consider it. I've had the car for five years and have never needed to remove taillights for anything other than modding... and I haven't read or heard anywhere of anyone else needing to (I've been on various forums for nearly five years and know dozens of people with this car).

So no, I'm not the least bit concerned about r/r the taillights.

The only reason to remove the taillights is to take out the two bolts under them that hold on the rear bumper cover. But then again, since you've shaved in the rear bumper as well...

right... and as with the taillights, I've never needed to remove the bumper for anything other than modding.

There just isn't a need to remove the things that are molded in... but somehow its a fascination for many people... its odd how many people mention it (but none of them have ever needed to remove theirs )

So what happens if you need to take the taillight out?...joking.

I feel for you OC, read before replying people. Obviously OC doesn't care about what ifs. His car is molded everywhere, so everywhere could technically be an issue. But obviously he has different goals and means. Im sure he's weighed his pros and cons just like other members. TTrank for example isn't thinking MPG's in his build, but you dont see people saying, "what if you had to get to grandma's house on one tank of gas?"!

OC's car looks sick, respect it for what it is, a show car (even if you do drive it daily).

Well excuse me all over the place.

Its not my concern whether he cares or not about replacing tail lights, I'm asking as I want to do this aswell, and removing a tail light is MY consideration.

It was a valiant effort though, coming into this discussion defending him like Kevin Costner defending Whitney in Bodyguard, so touching.

For OCG35, as a matter of fact, I have removed tail lights a few times, specifically in my Lexus SC250. Reasons were: someone smashed into it in a carpark, I needed to remove it to put an aftermarket rear on and I split them open so I could repaint the insides.
