Re: Painted Callipers
i'm not sure what brand paint i used (got rid of the bottle), but it was just regular Engine Paint from AutoZone. Just make sure its engine paint so it can take the heat.
I took off the wheels and then painted the capilers with a brush. There is no need to remove the capilers. I used a spray paint so i sprayed the paint into a bowl and then brushed it onto the capiler. You can also spray directly to the capiler but that will require alot of covering brake parts ect.
I let it dry overnight, i think the bottle said 3 hours, but i wanted to be safe. Its a pretty easy process, especially if you have jack stands.

Re: Painted Callipers
I am painting mine red. My G is red & I think that will look good. I am putting the car up on stands, changing to Synthetic oil, cleaning the inside of the rims really good, and rotating tires tomorrow Mar 28. I will post pics after that.
You can buy a spray paint that is "caliper paint" at an auto shop. I paid $6.00. I think I will take the calipers off (it is usually 2 bolts) and flip out the pads, then spray away. I confirm back when done..........

Yes, I used VHT Caliper paint from PartSource. Works great. Just make sure to clean your calipers really well to ensure an oil-free suface for the paint to stick. You can use some brake cleaner spray and a brush. I put on six coats each caliper, and it holds up well, even to pressure washing.

Re: Painted Callipers
Good job with the red. It looks like a real neat job you did there. It looks really good. Have you thought about giving them another coat or two of VHT Clear? Just curious...
I've seen calipers painted yellow, white, & black. (Plain black looks a lot better than rust.) For the more artistically inclined, how about zebra stripe, leopard spot, or a two-tone color-shifting paint? Just kidding!
Pick what color you like. Work clean. Take your time. It'll look good no matter what color you pick IMO. Good luck.

Re: Painted Callipers
Here is mine. I used a special japanese brand of red caliper paint SPRAY (the make was in Japanese). 2 coats. Took 18 hours to dry. Tied up the lift in this wheel shop for a whole day. They were good sports about it too (they didn't know themselves - Vision Auto Sport). It looks great - retains the texture of the caliper and does not look "drowned" in paint.
