Ok so my service engine light has been on. Over the weekend I used the shifttronic and then the light shut off. Any ideas as to why that would happen? Any help would be nice. Oh, I will also add that I drove the car very hard.( I just love how the exhaust sounds!) I think that I read somewhere that the tranny loves to rev up once in awhile and I can see why! My car sounded 10 times meaner afterwards.

 

I would guess something else turned the light on. If the problem goes away, after a while the light will turn off. Without reading the code you never know but that is my guess.

where did you read that the tranny loves to get reved? the only thing revving an auto tranny does is produce lots of heat, and heat is a trannies worst enemy. I think that's why some people on here have a separate aftermaket ATF cooler.
