Radio/CD sound out because of pothole

Radio/CD sound out because of pothole
I was intently listening to the Texas/Xavier Sweet 16
basketball game last Friday night on my way home from the
airport when I hit a pothole. I am a University of Texas at
Austin graduate and was into the game. Of course the bump
caused the CD/Radio sound to vaporize! I hit every button on
the damn thing, no sound.... Ten minutes later I hit another
pothole and the sound came back on. Well....Texas lost...
Today the sound disappeared again twice on my drive to
work. It looks like I will be going back to the dealer again.
I'm getting to know the service advisor pretty well lately.
How depressing!

Re: Radio/CD sound out because of pothole
Yea, but I visited them just last week. Three weeks ago
I had Infiniti fix my sun roof. It didn't close properly, the
sun roof didn't close flush with the roof line. When they fixed
it, they noticed that my sun visor clip was a little loose.
I didn't even notice it. Then last week my advisor called my
home to inform me the sun visor clip was in. I said "what is
this all about". So I took it in again last week to have that
fixed. Kudos to them for discovering a problem I didn't
even know about. One week later I'm going back. One thing
I will say about West Houston Infiniti, they pay attention
to the little details. I's so glad I'm in an Infiniti!

Re: Radio/CD sound out because of pothole
I got the G35 back from Infiniti yesterday. It turns out that the
radio ground was faulty and shorting out the unit. Infiniti has
ordered a new CD/Radio unit for me. I sure hope it is the new
and improved version! I will be visiting them again in a week or
so to have the new unit installed.

Re: Radio/CD sound out because of pothole
Took the G35 in to have the radio/cd replaced. I got a call
from my service advisor who said..."Do you have a minute?"
Oh NO! I've heard this before... He asked if I bought the car
new. I replied "No, I bought it when it came off lease, used."
Well....The moronic idiot who had leased the G35 Sedan
"CUT THE WIRES between the wiring harness and the
CD/Radio unit!!!!!!!" WTF! This idiot simply cut out the stock
sound system and put in an aftermarket one in his
LEASED G35. Holy ****! All he had to do was disconnect the
wireing harness. Infiniti said it was not going to fix this for free.
I can understand. Wait, let me find my gun. Infiniti then
reattached the wireing harness to the cut wires, applied
heat shrink wire coating to all the surgery and charged me
$300 I think I'm gonna cry!
