Huper Optik Tints Worth it?

I was quoted $325 by the local installer here in Miami. That's a pretty significant premium over regular tints.. anyone have any opinions? If not those, which are recommended?

Really blocks the heat - just like they say. But ... it's hard to install correctly and takes a long time to dry (maybe forever). I put mine in in January - still have cloudy spots (water) under the film.

But it really cuts the heat !

This stuff is good - really cuts the heat.
If you want the best tint performance-wise, this is probably it. If you want the "dark look" only, this stuff is not as dark as other tints.
I have had it on my car for about a year and I really like it. They put an almost clear Huper Optic film on my front door windows, which meets Calif. legal requirements, and that too cuts heat.
I had no issues with drying or the dots on the rear window, as others have mentioned. The job was perfect when I picked up the car from the tint shop - so make sure to get a tint shop that is an approved vendor of Huper Optic - if they know what they are doing, you will have a good result.

I paid $350 here in Miami at Altamere back in December. Install was good, and dried within a few days. Compared to other metallic based tints I've had on other cars, the HuperOptik does reject more heat. Of course, the true test will come in June! Other than heat rejection and looks, I also like the fact that it does not degrade over the years such as metallic tints. Hope this helps.

I am getting hell from my girlfriend saying they are overpriced and that I can get tints for $99 bucks... I somewhat understand her perspective, ya know?

Had mine done in January, by an installer in Orlando. They charged $299. It did take a long time to dry (still have a few tiny bubbles), but it really does cut the heat. Not very dark, as others have mentioned, but looks nice

You get what you pay for. The dealer raped me at a tune of $599 so I would say your price is good. In a 35,000 car, what a couple of hundred bucks anyways? As for tint for $99, tell her cubic zarconia (spelling) is much cheaper than a real diamond.

av8r..so you would recommend paying the premium for the Huper Optik? The tint dealer told me they have a demo that actually lets you feel the difference, and they say they computer cut the pieces of tint (never heard bout that, lol)

Re: Huper Optik Tints Worth it?

$325 is a good deal IMO, considering I paid almost twice that. It does seem to work well. They had a demo with a heat lamp and some samples at the dealership. That sold me. I also went to AltaMere after I bought the car and the owner told me he charges the dealer $400 for Huper.

Re: Huper Optik Tints Worth it?

Well I ended up getting the Ceramic 40 (the middle level) as it was the best balance between visability and heat reduction... but here's the kicker:

Remember I said it was $325 installed? Well this morning browsing the web I found the website for the installer.. Solar Tint in Miami (the only authroized Huper Optik dealer in Dade County) and there was a 15% off coupon!! So my install with tax and everything was only $295... a GREAT price I think, right?

BTW-Tint looks gorgeous (theres a couple bubbles.. but not very many.. like one per door or so... they do a great job there.

Thats a great deal IMO. I wish I would have waited and gotten the tint on my own instead of getting raped by the dealer.
