Last friday the car was DOA and would not start. I just replaced my battery after 6yrs (4/02 -5/08), I only have 37k on my 03 Sedan. IMHO, I think the length of time in years is a greater factor in the battery life then vs the mileage driven on that battery. I think TEXAN1's heed to take stock of how many years you've had the battery is valid.

To G or NOT to G....that is the question...

My battery was replaced at just under 4 years and about 40K miles.

I probably should have checked my manual to see what it says about maintainance, but I would hope that this is something checked when I'm in for the 15K, 30K, etc, scheduled maintainance.

Factory batteries seem to last longer, in my experience, than 3rd party batteries. I can remember an old car in college that required 2 batteries in 4 years.

My OEM battery lasted about 40K (2 years). Florida is not kind to them either. When I replaced it, I found out that there was a bigger size you could go to. The bigger one actually fits the battery tray like it's supposed to.

Just replaced my battery last week, just shy of 5 years old. Not bad. It didn't leave me sitting but it was really weak starting lately, and summer in NC is just about here

03 with 30530 miles, and battery #4. Original battery died as car was in storage for a year even though it was started once a month and moved. Replacement battery (interstate) died about 5-6 months after removal from storage with everyday driving. Back now to stocker, and I am deployed again so I recok I will be replacing again in Sept when I go home after 11 of no use and occasional starts and spin around the block by wifey. Oh how I love to spend money

My battery's birth date is April 2002, so it's been 6 years and 2 months with it. Just today after getting off from work, the car cranked a tad slower than normal so I have a feeling this battery is nearing its end. I'm gonna have to start shopping for a new battery, perhaps either an Optima Red Top or Advance Auto Parts Autocraft.
