Motor Trend Comparison
Re: Motor Trend Comparison
finally, someone notice wa I was talkin about..
It seems kind of odd...Its all mathematics..the g really should have the edge..when 0-60 is faster..
Thats the problem with these mags...they are never consistent...

Re: Motor Trend Comparison
The way that I see this is that the G gets the jump on the TL at the start, but that once the TL gets some traction, it accelerates faster than the G. The G wins the race to the 1/4 mile mark thanks to the quicker start, but even at that point the TL is not only going faster but also accelerating faster. Somewhere after the 1/4 it goes past the G and keeps increasing the distance between it and the G. The numbers make perfect sense to me.
Re: Motor Trend Comparison
In th4e Car and Driver, the 6spd TL out 0-60'd the G35 by like .4 seconds, but the G35 spanked the TL in 1/4, 0-100, and 0-120, so it's all in the tranny on this one.

The title of the article is:
California Dreamers: Four aspiring 3 Series alternatives.
Acura TL vs Cadillac CTS 3.6 vs Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan vs Saab 93 Aero
Back in the CD comparo they had a BMW 325i if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Motor Trend Comparison
The MT comparo is meant to find the best BMW alternative. The 4 cars in the comparo are all many thousands less than the BMW 330i.
The CD comparo had a 325i and it sounded like if it had more power (330i), it would have won. However, the 330i did not fit the pricing requirement. I'm guessing if a G45 was available for the same or lower price than a 330i, it would still have won. BMW is a lot like the New York Yankees. It can only get you a superior product by making it cost a hell of a lot more than the competition.

Re: Motor Trend Comparison
You do not have to worry about the automatic TL after about 105mph ... the TL has a TALL AND I mean TALL 4th Gear, trust me the wife just got one, and the damm thing felt like i hit brick wall, and pulled sooo slow after that.. did they post 0-120mph numbers, becuase i guarantee you the G35 is quicker
