rear tint and brake light

rear tint and brake light
Just got my windows tinted today by a shop recommended by a friend. It's too early to tell how good of a job they did, but I'm suspicious about how well they handled the brake light on the rear window.
When your rear window was done, did they cut around the light? Or did the shop take their time and tint the entire window? I kinda wish they tinted the whole thing, but I do acknowledge that I can be excessively **** at times.

my tint is also cut around the light. I think thats the way they are supposed to do it. the shop where I got it done gets the tints precut with a laser then they apply it to the glass. Your shop may have done the same thing.
i don't know if i understand the question, but most shops will cut around the third brake light. also, these days, most shops these day use a computer cut program that precuts the tint. for cars with spoiler brake lights, there are two different versions they can cut. if you wanted the entire rear window tinted, you may have needed to say so beforehand.

my tint(5%) covers the break light which I unplugged so only my tails light up its as if I never had a 3rd =)

Its an easy window to cover over the light. Could be a computer cut kit but most likely a tinter that could care less. Most seem to be that way these days. If you find a good tinter than get his cell number. They are hard to come by these days.
i got the same thing done on my sedan. personally, I am not a fan of it and wish they put the tint over it. I didn't even think of it until after it was done. I may get it redone this summer just to give it a clean look. I think it breaks up the clean lines and gives it a ricer/civic look if ya know what i mean

I have never seen that, my window is fully tinted, but i wish they could of have done that on mine so that i can show my brake light though...

I remember when I was first was looking to get my tint done...one shop said they had to leave small lines cause the rear window had to be done in pieces because it was too curved? wtf?
Another shop said they had to do it around the brake light.
Last shop obviously said "no problem" and did the whole window.
Guess it comes down to who does it and the effor they want to put into it.
Doesn't look too bad but I prefer the whole window covered
