from inside the trunk - it only looks off centered b/c the spare tire well is actually farther over to the right / passenger side.

extended pipes exiting the muffler to relocate the tips farter apart. All including the muffler were sprayed with flat high temp Rustoleum spray paint so they dont rust and to conceal it all under the car. You don't notice the muffler or exhaust pipes at all.

if anyone follows in my foot steps they should be able to cut out less metal than I did. I am in the process of cutting on the section I cut out so I can piece it back in around the muffler and tack weld it back in then weld it all up. Hoping and believeing that my space saver spare will still fit down in there. The muffler actually doesn't come up too far into the trunk.

I can't believe you cut up your trunk to install a coupe exhaust.

why it sounds and looks great. I'm sure this isn't for everyone but personally I don't see the big deal - it's just a car to me. Not to mention the metal can be fit back in around the muffler to get the trunk back anyway.

alright guys I'll post pics up of the space saver spare tire back down in there once I get the floor put back together - this is just a temporary situation. I need my trunk space, and spare tire back in there too

Props for doing some real modding vs just slapping something in. Custom for sure.

Becareful though..while you got no floor back there, your trunk is probably suckin in exhaust fumes. You don't want to breathe that in too much and its not really noticeable till after you get out of the car and smell your shirt

I bet the small spare will still fit. That well is made for a full size. Worst case you have a bit of a bulge. I have a coupe 19 in my spare well and it only sticks up ~2-3" which is no big deal.

good job 68_G,

but do you think its possible not to cut trunkfloor and then weld it back in modified,

cant you just maybe bent it inside and then fit the muffler in?

certainly possible

actually when I first thought to do this I considered doing something like jacking the car up and putting jackstands under the spare well. Then lowering the car down slowly to see if the weight of the car pushing down on the spare well with jack stands under them would push it in enough to give room for the muffler under there. Maybe jack the car up and down moving the stands around several time to bend certain areas until there was enough room.

could work - if so then it would be better than what I did I'd like to see someone try that, can't remember exactly why I decided to just cut it out rather that try that. Guess I knew cutting it out would definately get the job done and bending the well up was a maybe...

I'll put some pics up in a few from the sides inside the trunk that shold show just how far up the muffler sits inside the trunk. It's really not that far up in there at all.
