Is the coupe mid pipe the choice for a sedan?

My 2006 sedan is pretty much silent yet the coupes and 350Z sound great with the stock exhaust.

Does the coupe midpipe increase the sound level of the sedan with no other changes?

Thanks,
Todd

It makes it a bit louder and drops some weight. Great choice if you are not going with a full aftermarket cat back exhaust.

There's no benefit from switching to a Coupe midpipe if you have an 05-06 Sedan. They're pretty much the same. You should look into an axleback exhaust if you're going for sound.

Thanks for the link. So my 06 sedan has the bigger rear muffler so the coupe mid pipe isn't going to do much for me.

I'll just make a new mid pipe with no resonator and see how that sounds. I'd like to keep the stock look.

Anyone have a drawing or dimensions of the flanges so I can have them cut prior to removing the stock pipe?

Todd

Is there any difference between 'the coupe middy combined with a HKS muffler' and a 'full catback exhaust' system in terms of performance?

Yes, a good complete cat back like the Borla or Stillen will show somewhat higher gains than a coupe mid with HKS. At least a few HP.

is there any drone with the coupe middie and all else stock...2003.5 sedan here. I don't mind a louder, sound and these clips sound really good.....so I think this is my next mod.

My hunch is that there is no drone, just a bit louder interior-sound intrusion--but that's ok b/c this car is way too quiet for me.

btw, these sound great....

2003 sedan w/cpe middie

2006 sedan (you can hear that it is not as loud or pleasant--sounds more straining b/c he is reving higher rpms to make more sound.

**the only thing I've read is that not all hangers are used compared to stock or using 05-06 sedan middie and that you might have to bend the heat shield a bit.....

If you want a bit more sound, consider getting a small muffler off of the 03/04 sedan. I've never liked the revving in place videos because that is not how these exhausts sound under load. Here's my 03 sedan with an 06 sedan midpipe taking off with 30% throttle and then full throttle.
