Not sure. How many miles are on your car & do you get snow/road salt where you live? I have 97K miles on my car and live in MA.

i have 38K, and yes they salt the crap out of the roads during winter. I wash the car at least 2 times a week during winter though.

I'm guessing part of the reason these welds are rusting is probably due to moisture that sits in side the door jamb after rain, washing the car, etc....just a guess. Either way, if they constructed the car right, this should not be happening.
