rust inside doors

Hey guys, yesterday I noticed that there's a rust bubble on the outside of door, to the right of the window on the little black pannel, which lead me to discover rust bubbling from inside... it seems to be rusting from the inside-out...

Does anyone know the warranty coverage on something liek this? I have an 03.5 and the powertrain warranty is up, but I mean, this should not be happening on a car that is as well taken care of as mine... will Infiniti replace my doors? or am I doomed?

thanks guys

Infiniti has a 7 year/unlimited mileage corrosion warranty that you should still be covered under. They should honor a claim for you to have it repaired as it doesnt sound like surface rust. I have read on here about people getting replacement doors through Infiniti due to similar problems.

Actually Infiniti has extended this to 10yrs and many people have gotten their doors replaced (including myself for 3 doors). Just do your research on the bodyshop that the Infiniti dealership uses.

I have the same issue. My dealer has been screwing around with me that they won't replace anything until the rust fully penetrates - letter and verse of the warranty.

The rust appears to originate in the weld.

ok well I called the dealership and the guy said that this is true, mine is cancer'd all on the inside of the door, and is beginning to bubble on the outside; hopefully I can talk them into just fixing it now rather than making me wait until I have a goddamned hole in the door!

oh well, the warranty is good until 2013 so eventually there'll be holes and they can replace.

The good news is the doors that are effected have been keyed on the actual pannel (nothing close to the rust) anyone know if they replace the door entirely>? I suppose that'd just be wishful thinking on my part...

Somebody posted here with a similiar problem saying they had all 4 of their doors replaced under warranty, so i would think they replace the entire door. Hopefully the replacements are sealed better.

? when they change out the doors do the paint both side complete or do the just paint the doors. I would be a little pis$ed if they just painted the doors and not blended the fenders and 1/4's let me know

I wished I have rust on my doors (especially the keyed door). Need some new doors with no dents.

They blended mine on both sides, however, with my previous post earlier in this thread, another stealership only painted the door itself. I would make sure to ask that question before hand before getting it done.

And yes, they do replace the whole door, but transfer all the internals.

Thought I'd revive this thread. I discovered this same exact issue recently...bubbling rust at the weld hidden behind the black trim...dammit, I hate dealing with this stuff...but glad it's still covered under warranty.

on a black G though, there should be no need for blending. Where should I get a rust inspection from? body shop?
