hey guys, maybe im completely stupid...but i just lowered my 05X all 4 sides 10 ago using coupe springs. Had an experienced mechanic do it. Not sure if i noticed this before but for some reason now the back left sits a finger length lower than the back right. After measuring this quickly w tape measure, it seem like just about a 1/4" difference. I have a pretty full tank of gas, but its actually on the side that rides higher so that cant be it...i beleive i am on even ground when i checked...nothing heavy in the trunk.....I also havent gotten around to getting an alignment (been waiting until springs settled some)....

assuming (hoping) the springs were a matching pair (picked them up locally) is this an installation or alignment issue?

 

Most all cars lean like that. Especially with lowering springs, it makes it more noticeable. Height adjustment and flexibility of coilovers allow you to fix that "problem"

 

I had the same problem. I installed a set of Tein Basics and despite the length of the rear collars for left and right were set exactly the same, there was approximately a 1/2" heighth difference, the right (passenger side) being higher. Fortunately I have coilovers to offset this height difference.

 

yea unforunately there is not way i can spend 1800 on X coilovers, which no one really even produces. visually it doesnt bother me much, both sides in the back regardless look nice and low...i just dont want it to mess anything up suspension/performance wise...(besides my camber issues which hopefully ill get adjusted)

and yes you are correct, the fact the rears are both close to the wheelwell now makes it very noticable, easy to pick out...

 

put a fat chick in the passenger seat! j/k man.... my silverado was like that when I dropped it so I just rolled it as is and hoped it would settle. now my daughter drives it so I don't even care lol....

 

^A 1/2" seems like alot. I wonder if the springs were installed backwards.

 

I thought that also, but checked and they are right side up.

 

im sure mine were done right, theoretically, the guy knows what hes doing, by backwards, do u mean upside down or something

Did you get an alignment done? Since posting that I had an alignment done. Turns out my camber specs were -1.3 left and -.5 right. The left side was flush again after the alignment, but I haven't bothered comparing the height of the left and right yet.

 

thanks, definately sounds like the same problem im having, my camber is sorta off, but more off front to rear, not side to side as much. either way, ill get everything aligned, then well see..

 

When I said backwards..I meant upside down...sorry. The "flat" side of the spring should be facing upwards.

Since you are dropped on coupe springs (about 1/2" drop) you shouldn't have to get it alligned. Thats not enough drop to throw anything off.

 

well i have a an X so it drops everything .5 more, so its about an inch, and my camber is -2....
