lol u guys talking about the G sedan right? i see all these numbers in the mid20's about mpg and im thinking i must be in the wrong forum. How the helll does the Gsedan get 24mpg let alone the 26mpg some dude claim he had gotten? Im getting 19.7mpg exactly and a mere 20 flat on the highway. how are u driving that get you 24mpg?

I got 25.2 mpg out of my last tank. How are you guys calculating your MPG? I always fill the tank, then I divide the mileage during the tank by the gallons it took to fill it up. The little green leaf on the sat-nav system isn't very accurate and neither is the average MPG it displays.

Every tank I go through gets recorded. Since I've been driving it I'm averaging about 25.6 mpg. My car is completely stock, a 6MT.

If you're getting considerably good or poor mileage, post up a list of your mods. Naturally wider wheels will bring it down.

Yeah.. I've got an 03 Sedan 5AT, and I'm averaging about 20mpg, with a 35 mile one-way hilly highway commute each day. I drive pretty sedately, but occasionally love to blast the VQ up to 6k. 20mpg is okay - but it hurts paying $85 for 400-420 miles, whereas I'm used to $60 +/- with my 97 Camry.

If I do this every day, and gas goes up to $5/gal soon, I will be paying $100 for a fill-up.

I might be driving the Camry more this summer

Oh well. You just gotta learn to love getting bent over and violated by gas prices. It's going to keep getting worse. Gas prices will _never_ go below $4 a gallon again IMO. Hell, I pay between $4.15 and $4.30 for 91oct in the bay area.

I drove like a granny the past three days, almost all freeway, and observed about 27 mpg. I drove 71-72 mpg with cruise and light throttle from take off.

I got 26mpg on a 300 mile round trip, 4 lane highway driving the speed limit of 60mph with cruise. AC was on auto/economy and it was hot out, especially on the trip back. My car is a 2005 6MT sedan and I was in 6th gear the whole time. RPMs were a little above 2000 IIRC. I've gotten 16mpg plenty of times in this car, so I'm convinced it's speed and driving style.

For people that get less then 20mpg are you guys heavy on your feet? Meaning you like driving fast and speeding around town.

No, we just have auto's. I'm lucky to get 21~22 with 95% hwy doing 75~80mph

how in the world are you guys getting 21-23 MPG from a car thats rated at 20MPG city. Please enlighted me , because the engineers couldn't get that much, so tell me your secret

I notice that I been getting better gas mileage after I did the following: Not sure if it'll work for everyone but every bit helps for me. On hwy I always cruise at between 75-80mph and lately I been getting 23-24mpg which is acceptable for me.

Sure they will. The oil bubble will burst here within the year. The price of crude is overpriced by about $30 to $40. What's driving the price escalation is primarily speculation, a weak dollar, and investors flocking to oil who otherwise were mixed up in the mortgage crunch fiasco. Mark my word, prices will fall hard and fast.

Right now I'm seeing about 20-21mpg in 50/50 driving. I use to get fractionally better prior to adding my 18" wheels.

One thing you guys are forgeting about is that our great President signed into legislation that all our gasoline must now be 90% gasoline and 10% ethanol (E10). Ethanol has 30% less energy than dino gasoline and that means it takes about 20 gallons of E10 to match that of 19 gallons of dino gasoline. Thanks to President Bush we pay the same for fuel that gives us less MPGs, we (the US taxpayer) pays the ethanol subsidy to the ethanol industry/farmers, and the increase in corn ethanol has driven up our food costs. Thanks President Bush You won't be missed.

I agree, oil prices cannot last thi high for much longer, it is not posible... but when it comes down everyone will feel stupid for trading in their amazing cars for prius's... lol ...

I ay it will be back under 2 dollars in 2 years... My opinion.. could be wrong..
