Thanks for the info. I found a site that has a DIY as well as sells the gears.

I was about to spend a ton of money replacing the whole track.
My family actually owns a machine shop in Atlanta, GA but like said before, they only work on high quantities.
I ordered the plastic gear from OdometerGears for $65 and can't wait for it to come in.
Also, to the earlier post about why they aren't made out of aluminum or some other type of metal is because I think they are made to break so that the screw rod that turns them isn't damaged if the seat gets jammed somehow.
Anyways, thanks again.

having this exact same problem.. seems over the years since this thread started in 2008 its now 2011 lots of people been having this exact same problem.. How come no TSB out on it.. this is ridiculous id rather not pay $1000 to get this fixed either but may have no choice.
I guess ill figure out what gear everyone is talking about. A DIY of this and pictures would be great since its apparently such a common problem

For any future people who come across this thread with same problem. I can confirm it was the gear I pulled mine out very easy to do by the way. It was stripped. I ordered a gear from http://www.odometergears.com/infiniti.html got here in 2 days. Replaced it and worked like a charm.
Also on that site there is a DIY how to get out the gear and replace it. Very easy to do for anyone. Saved my *** $1000 from the dealership! Very glad i found this thread!
