I have turanzas and run at 30 all the time - not sure what im gonna do.

What is the recom. street pressure for Turanzas anyone know?

I would suggest leaving it in manual 3. I found that I can pull all the way to the end and not touch the rev limiter in 3rd gear. I tried it in auto, but about 100' shy of the finish line, it would shift into 4th gear.

Great times guys...i'm working on getting out to the track sometime soon. Weather wasnt working out too well for us here in philly not too long ago...then when the weather is right...the track has something planned for a "special night" I'll let u guys know how i do when i get out there!

All-stock (embarrassingly so) G35X turned a halfway-decent time...considering the extra 300# or so......
Best run:
R/T: .537
ET: 14.73
MPH: 94.22
that was with a 2.19 60' time and run in MM mode
My 3 previous runs (full auto) were all 14.81 @ 93.74, 93.45, 93.62 MPH
All 60' were 2.20, and the times through half track were the same to the thousandths of a second!!! Talk about a monster bracket racer!!!!
Here's the *dumb* part:

All runs were made with VDC on.

With the "X", all I had to do was mash the brake and the gas, letting off the brake as soon as the last Christmas tree yellow flickered (on a shallow stage)
Snow launch (50-50 front/rear split) was exactly the same to the thousandth. I cannot believe how consistent this car was (in auto)
My best run was in MM mode, but so was my worst. The last run of the day was a 14.94 after banging off the rev limiter on a late 1-2 shift.
All R/T's were between .537 and .598 fyi
Any other times for "X" drivers????

Thanks Chicago...this is what I was asking for...let the times poor in...and Dude, for the extra weight...those are nice times...Did you gut the car? And w/out the TCS on, who knows...

Thanks for the compliment. When I read other drivers' times, I felt SOO SLOW.
I don't think the car was gutted to *your* standards
I did have the mats, my briefcase, the manuals and other extraneous items out of the car. Not planning on racing, there was also 3/4 tank of gas in the car.
Next time, I will remove everything not bolted down, and a few things that are...........

lol...my previous best was 14.6 so don't feel bad...not too many 6 speeds are running 14.2 so I am psyched...you will get better when you go there a lot lighter next time. ;-)

I know what you mean about the Blizzaks, too. I think they have these little thread-like fibers that come out of the rubber to add to grip in ice/snow. I always wanted to put them on a 'sleeper'
I once got my a$$ handed to me by a Mercedes 560sec (300hp all alum v8) in my 12-second Impala SS. I spun a little bit out of the hole, lost traction big time on the 1-2, and could never catch him. When I looked at his snow tires, I just about lost it. Later on, it made perfect sense. It was a little moist out, and he had a traction advantage that a 2-second faster car couldn't erase. Live and learn, eh?

Awesome times bosssho! Could you post your complete timeslip, I see no mention of your 60' times? I'm not sure if you should be idling in the staging lanes with your heat on. What I like to do is start the car drive up and then shut off. Wait till the line moves again and same procedure until your ready to make a pass. Any cool off time you had before staging will be wasted by letting the car run, even with the heat on. On the return road back I pop my hood latch and this way the heat dissipates faster with a steady flow of air. I also noticed my times didn't suffer from hot lapping and actually improved. If it works well for you that's great, just sharing my findings. I didn't know we had so many drag racers here, being a luxury sedan and all. A list with everyone's times would be a great resource including mods.

Anyone have 2 space-saver spares to put on the front????
I bet it is worth almost one tenth. In my old Rustang, we would get two spares from a t-bird turbo coupe (looked like drag wheels anyway!) and put them up front for lower rolling resistance and weight savings.

I want to pull the fuse on VDC so it will not hold back anything. Boss makes it sound as tho the thing is stopping you from spinning at all even when pushed off. I've always been able to keep the tires spinning with it off if I wanted to.

Anyone else pull the fuse?

can you explain to my why you put on the heat?

 

Well went to the track last night. 75 degrees, clear calm night, except for the moskeeters. Best time was:

14.67 @ 95
60' was 2.25

out of 6 runs, never went above 14.90

Next time I'm taking the 19"s off and swapping with the stock 17's. Who's next...
