Dude it takes forever for these things to reach those speeds, not to mention that any journalist tested G35 sedans are typically limited to around 145-147mph. It takes the vehicle approximately 42.8 seconds to reach 140mph according to the original test of a 2003 G35 Sedan 5AT Sport (May 2002 Car and Driver), and at that speed I'd estimate that the acceleration is so dismal that it would take over one minute to top it out on level ground.

The coupes from what I've researched are either ungoverned or limited to 155.

I don't understand how some are saying they've seen like 150+. Even if you got past the speed limiter (somehow) you'd have to be trying to hit the speed of sound for like 3 miles lol. I hope wherever you tried this was deserted or something.

I wish i could record and how you long it takes me go past 155mph mark. It takes less than most people think. I do see ATs taking some time to get there though considering how long 3rd and 4rth gears are.
all stock Coupes and sedans are limited to 155, end of story.

120ish about 3 days ago on a 1-lane, 1-way back road the other day. Decided I was already pushing my luck, as it was a 35mph street, and decided to slow down.

I've hit 157 on my G... confirmed by GPS.

Speedo was reading ~165ish

Borrowed tires and rims obviously... wouldn't do that on the stock 17"s with RE92as...

Every single one of my cars that were tested always read a top speed 1-3mph in the range of where they are supposedly governed.

For instance our Qx4 will shut you down at 110mph just like it says lol. It impossible to exceed that speed because the power is cut out.

Ah well *shrugs*

Hitting a Gs top speed is going to be a bit diff than a QX4 seeing as its 150+mph rather than 100 lol

I hate low speed limiters. Bouncing off 98mph in our pickup is so effing annoying

I have had my 04 over 150 on 2 occasions, completely stock, stock rims, Michelin pilot sport a/s tires. Once was on a dyno (158mph) and the other was on the street (159, gps confirmed). The time on the street was amazing. I'll never do it again, without law enforcement assistance, though...too risky. Everything goes into super fast motion...like hitting a "turbo" button on a video game. It took a while to get from 130 to borderline 160, but it was worth it. The rev limiter scared the **** out of me, though.

I think with that rear end the top speed is exactly 186mph. I know I read that somewhere for sure.

I live in Canada, so there's plenty of opportunity to hit open, clear, beautiful highways at break-neck speeds...

It was over 1 year ago, but I swear I remeber toping out at 146mph in my stock, early 2003 5AT Sedan simply because I ran out of RPM in top gear. I haven't tried it since supercharging it because I thought I hit the limit. Have other 5AT's achieved faster speeds than this? (6MT, I understand...) Is there a difference in 5AT gearing throughout the years?

I'm going to go for a country rip right now to test it agian... be back in 30 minutes...
