Well I checked the fuses, none where bad in the cabin or in the engine bay or even on the IPDM unit. I checked all connections under the dash where they plug in the Con. II nothing. Took the gauge cluster off nothing looks wrong there. I kinda gave up at this point, in Infinitis hands now....Ill keep you guys updated and thanx for any help
I had the same thing happen to me on vacation three years ago. I had a Jeep which drove fine one morning when I went to get breakfast, and then one hour later I got in it and when I turned the key on, I heard all kinds of relays clicking and buzzing sounds and the engine would not turn over. When jump starting, it barely ran and cut off and finally it would crank but not start. I had it towed to the shop and they found shorted cells in the battery. I never suspected the battery since it was only a few months old. If you have another vehicle, temporarily swap batteries and see if it solves your problem.
Well Infiniti saying its my alternator that went bad, total estimate 780 bux ouch. I get to drive a 08sedan until I can pick up my car.

How in the hell does an alternator part/labor job cost $780 bucks? I would have that thing towed to an independent shop, buy the best alternator + indep. shop install + second tow expense and you still could save $200 or more in my uninformed guess; even if infiniti charged you $50 to diagnose, its cheaper to go elsewhere.Originally Posted by 03Sg35

Note to self, do not go to infiniti to have alt. done.
I am going to call infiniti to get an estimate on alt. and see what they say..

^^Amen to that...You could pick up a 250a Ohio Generator's alternator for around $400, and get it installed for...MAYBE 200. Saves you 180, and you got a badass alternator. A stock ampere rated alternator plus 2.5 hours of install time @ a shop shouldn't cost you more than....I would say around $450...TOPS.

I'm with these guys. That's awfully pricey for an alternator, I'd take it somewhere else or do it myself. Glad it's the alternator and nothing more involved/serious. Good luck to ya!
