G is DEAD Need help

I need some help, last night I was driving and my radio started to go out, sounded like a loose wire and only the front right speaker worked. Then after about 2 hours i try to drive home again and my gauge cluster has nothing on or working? Also i can rev my car past maybe 2k RPM(Im guessing 2K I cant see it work) the car will cut out if i try to rev past that??
I did some searching and found that maybe its a problem with the IPDM unit, I have checked all fuses and they are fine, car is acting really starnge, the lights stay on by themself, the door open alarm wont work. I could start and drive the car but cant rev it high. Finally after maybe another 3 hours the battery died.
Anyone could help me with this, car is dead now
Could this be the alternator??
This is funny b/c i also did a TCU reflash at infiniti the day before, when i got the car back it was driving fine.??

I'd guess alternator. Try jumping it off and let it run for a minute and see if it dies again. If so, it's the alternator.

get your battery tested, then check the alternator. Sounds like your alternator though, but your battery is not going to hold up to the full discharges. Could also be a loose belt.

What happen when your lights are on and you rev the engine?

TCU reflash would not affect the power system.

I'm suspecting a loose harness somewhere. An alternator going bad wouldn't make your stereo act like that 2 hours before the car dies.

I'm not familiar with the process of reflashing at the dealer. Is it possible they disconnect the harness and plug in? If so, then check that connection.

The car ran fine after the dealer so im ruling that out for now, I heard that the rpm is the Safe MODE or Fail SAFE mode the car goes into, so it wont rev. Anyone heard of this IPDM, I guess it has this effect on the car when it fails??

Well, sure it worked fine at first, but driving around made it shake loose. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it (for now).

Which reflash did you get? I have the early auto also.

As far as your problem, I had the problem where my AC would go full blast, radio didn't work etc... ended up being the stereo face plate that needed to be replaced.

I'd check the battery though. It wouldn't hurt and it's a free/easy check if you have a multimeter.

Jeff I had the AC circuit board problem also and chnaged my whole head unit, worked good till yesterday. But i dont think it is it.

did you check all your fuses? I had similar strange things happen in my old 240 when one of the main fuses went out.

+1... it sounds like a minor electrical short somewhere. Good luck, let us know what the problem was.

I'm thinking something got knicked in the ECU harness and is grounding out against the body, causing it to go into limp mode. You also may have a loose knock sensor. When they're loose they'll pick up ALL kinds of false-knock and throw the car into "WTF" mode

EDIT---maybe not...the knock sensor thing wouldn't explain the dash lights. If it's the knock sensor WIRE though, that may do it...could be backfeeding into the ECU somewhere and causing a clusterfawk of problems

ah you know what I just thought about.... on my old WRX, when you reflashed the ECU there was a yellow connector under the dash you had to connect to "prime" the ECU to take the new flash. If you didn't unplug it after flashing you get weird symptoms and your car drives like it's in limp mode.

I bet the G has the same type of plug and I bet they forgot to disconnect it after a flash.
