Z Tube, sweet deal
Z Tube, sweet deal
So I just picked up a Z Tube from a guy who lives somewhat close to me and as we started talking about his rear mounted turbo coupe I mentioned that I'm also looking for a coupe mid pipe. He didn't have an extra one, but he gave me a coupe Y pipe for free. Very nice of him. So all I need now is the mid pipe and I'm set. Z Tube install with the K&N drop in went flawlessly.
Try out the 05/06 mid-pipe.
I like the extra hanger to make sure it doesn't hit the driveshaft, and it sounds quite good.
As for the K&N, be careful that the grease doesn't clog up your MAF. I personally use the Z-tube/Amsoil dry filter combo, but one cannot go wrong with an aftermarket filter and a Z-tube. This way you won't lose low end on hot days becasue your soaking your filter with hot air. Your intake temps stay low becasue it's all plastic, no worries of hydrolock, and you don't waste your money on after market systems that do nothing but lose hp/make none and look pretty.

I don't know about it being able to fit with a Stillen heat shield.
My intake is stock except for the filter and the z-tube. I use an Amsoil panel filter, and the part number is EaA74. Otherwise, I don't know about cone filters, etc.

Good luck finding one though, been looking forever. There's a guy selling them on eBay, but who trusts them?
