Dash electronics problem

Hey guys, I have an 03 Sedan which is having an electrical problem. All of the dash lights work but there is no control over the radio, a/c, and all other center dash controls. It will periodically come back and give me control but most of the time none of the buttons work. The steering wheel controls for the stereo do work full time. Please help, its hotter than heck here and I need to control the AC! Thanks for any input.

Blue

Intermittent use sound like a bad wire or crack in the board somewhere.

That's an integrated board, so not sure there is an easy fix for you. Sounds like you need a trip to the dealership.

My G did this the other day. I did a search on here and found that others have had similar problems. One thing I saw to try was to hit the "compass" button, and it will kick the dash lights back on. It worked for me, and I haven't had that problem since. If it does work, you may just want to put the A/C on "auto" and set the thermostat to whatever is comfortable (like 70 degrees). The a/c will still work if it goes back out, as long as it's on auto.

I think SoCalTed is right though, the board will have to be replaced. From what I've read, that seems to be the fix. May want to check junkyards or see if there's a way to separate the radio and a/c controls.

when everythings said and done, you have 3 options 1) aftermarket HU (thats what i did loving it!!!) 2) visit this website, they refurb these www.shortcircuitrepair.com 3) take it to the stealership and get raped

Thanks to all!

Thanks for all the tips and the link to the thread, I did search but didn't find anything. I'm going to call the stealership tomorrow and see what they say. Then, I'll search junkyards and aftermarket.
