Warranty will be over this Christmas Eve...

Hi all,

My car's bumper to bumper warranty will be over soon. Any upcoming things I should look for? I am not sure how long I am planning to keep it cause it sucks up gas like crazy. Bought it Christmas Eve 2004. This is what I've done so far...which is not much. I've read some of the threads regarding 30k maintenance, etc but hopefully you folks will provide some answer instead of telling me to do another search.

1) Had the compression rod changed under warranty
2) Took care of the rear window ticking noise under warranty
3) At 27k miles now, changed front pads, rear pads still have some life
4) Regular oil change interval, etc
5) Changed out cabin filter twice
6) Changed Stillen cone filter recently (I don't reuse them)
7) Dealer claims my belt has cracks which I don't see at all so it's still running the stock belts
8) Still on original battery, bought distilled water but can never figure out how to see the water level to pour it in.
9) Rotated tires
10) Have Gordgee grounding gear which in my opinion didn't do anything for my car.

These are the list of things I see people doing which I haven't done.

1) Flush coolant, flush brake fluid, change differential oil, a/t fluid drain and refill
2) Clean throttle body

Should I do them soon? I don't really drive that much. Probably about 5,000 miles a year.

I plan to bring my car to the dealer for oil change next month and just curious if there's any bulletin or recall or things I should bring up and hopefully get them to fix it for free.

Thanks as always...

I never changed my coolant on my Maxima in 135K miles. My mechanic said it wasn't necessary. I agree.

Wow...never drained and flushed? I prob. do it in another year since I don't drive much. You had the maxima for how many years?

I would also add the fuel filler hose recall service campaign if that hasn't been done for your car. I believe this affects only the '03-'04 G35. In addition, if you've been getting the CD loading errors on your stereo, have that fixed under warranty. That happened to me right after I purchased my G used, and the dealer replaced the entire stereo at no charge.

Despite the G being the gas sucker like the OP stated, there's no way I'm getting rid of the car at this time. I love the power and acceleration, and the car is great for long trips (not to mention that it looks good when it's modded right)

Fuel filler hose? Is that something new? I have an 05 and I don't remembered hearing about that recall? Actually they fix the gas filling issue I had, which clicks off before it gets full. But that was a bulletin not recall. Is that the same?

I haven't seen the CD loading error.

Ah, I didn't see in your signature that you have an '05. The issues for the fuel filler hose and CD changer only affect the '03-'04 models. Those issues were resolved from the factory for the '05 G35. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, just ignore what I said in my previous post
