Newbie w/ key question

Just picked up an 04 G35X last Friday but it only came with 1 Key & Key Fob/Remote. Natually I called the dealer to pick up another set... key is $110, fob is $97... then the kicker $165 for them to program the keys and remotes. WTF $165!! I searched around on this but i havent been able to find a DIY. I bought one key from the dealer and had it cut. 2 Fobs on ebay that are oem with trunk release buttons. I have instructions from infinitihelp.com for the fobs but what about programming the new key? Any help would be much appreciated.

local locksmiths can program your chipped key as well for afraction of the cost infiniti would charge you. Keyfob and blank keys on ebay is a great idea, just make sure the FCC ID (located on the back of the keyfob) matches the current one that you have (to make sure its real). the remotes are easy to program yourself with the instructions.

remotes could be easy to program. get in the car windows up doors locked
insert you key in the ignition and remove several times. after a bit your four ways will flash, when that happens dont pull the key out turn it to "on" then press the buttons on the remote you wish to program. ive done it several times every now and then it wont work most of the time it will. most of you probably knew that just thought id share. i dont know how to program a key with out consult, but a nissan dealer can program most keys however many of them might try to tell you different. btw one time when i programed a remote the other remote wouldnt work, i tried again and everything was fine just thought id note that

I ordered two FOBs from ebay and programmed them myself. It took under a minute and I could send you the full directions if you just PM me and ask for them. I had the same problem you did with keys.
