8K+ would be for a full competition license

No license and/or membership is required for any of the classes. To participate in Autocross events Solo 1 and 2, you just need to have a SCCA membership. A membership allows you to partcipate in the Novice class competitions based on the vehicle type. After successful completion of these events you are eligible to get judging sign off to compete at a higher level. This in effect gives you the SCCA amateur competition license.

Best class to start would be your highway survival-
Then a few weeks later take the performance class with your car-

The Jack Russell School looks really cool but its in Sonoma, CA.. From my house: 391.3 miles

The Skip Barber school is only 297.5 miles away..

Any schools in the Los angeles area or surrounding areas??
