Anyone's trans pulling from 2 to 3?

Hey All,

My 05 AT pulls pretty hard sometimes when I shift from 2 to 3. If I'm smooth on the gas, it shifts nice but if I'm running hard, it pulls with a bit of a thump. Does yours do that too sometimes? I have 20K worth of warranty left ... should I just take it in?

Thanks.

MC

I think its pretty common, mine used to do the same thing, loud thud when shifting from 2 to 3 in MM mode. Recently got a grounding kit installed by SxExCx and it really smoothed out the shift from 2 to 3 out (I was very surprised). Sean only does grounding kits for locals but you can check out Gordgees Grounding Gear, its gotten good reviews (if you search for it you'll find a bunch of reviews on here). That's been my personal experience, I'm sure others will chime in with theirs.

yes. absolutley... I've been saying it for a couple years - mine has pretty much always done that... and 2-3 is the most noticable, especially under heavy acceleration.

Is it normal? I dont know - but mine has always done it and I've read several others over the years that have said theirs does too.

My 04 use to shift hard with a thump from 2-3 when I got on it, but yesterday I had the dealership do a trans flush and new fluid fill along with both differentials, when I got if back I drove home and on the way I got on it and the hard shift from 2-3 was gone, its nice and smooth now... no idea why? but I am happy

Thanks all ... it'll be going in for a oil change and coolant flush ... maybe a trans flush too? Anyways - thanks for the thoughts.
