Rattles??
I have read quite few posts on here about interior rattles on the G35. I have 35k on my 03 sedan and still the interior is very tight with no rattles. I am just curious if people are experiencing the same rattles, and if so, where are they coming from? Just curious.
Re: Rattles??
Rattles from both doors. Dealer fixed driver's side BUT won't fix passenger side because older than a year. Those can be fixed by securing cables inside doors and tightening window regulator unit. Front of dash board wher it meets windshield. Not sure how I am going to fix that one. Some one said the wiper blade mechanism.
Anyway, Great car BUT Infiniti in Winnipeg is just a Nissan dealer selling Infiniti cars which means sub standard service.
Have a great day

Re: Rattles??
I've had all four doors rattle (sounds like speaker distortion when it's bad) and buzz, my sunroof 'door' rattles, my headliner against the windshield rattled, my passenger seat has this BIZARRE mettalic rattling when I'm on a rough road, my driver's seat clicks, I have a new rattle this week in my B-pillar...
i've fixed all of them but the seats, sunroof door (I just leave it closed/open) and B-pillar myself using a combination of felt and weather stripping. So far none of the rattles I've fixed have come back, I just seem to move on to new ones

Re: Rattles??
Pulled off the a-pillar (just pull, hard) which allowed me to pull the roof liner down slightly. It's made of quite tough plastic and so I simply added some weatherstripping to the inside of the lining and bent 1-2mm of it (barely enough to stick) over the edge of the liner. When I put it back it's now comfy weatherstripping foam vs windshield instead of tappity-tappity-tap roofliner vs windshield. I also took this oppotunity to wrap the wires that go thru the a-pillar as these rattled occasionally too. I'm going to do something similar with anything in the b-pillar sometime soon. It's really very easy and much less hassle than asking the dealer to figure it out...

LOL, okay, now I'm showing my lack of knowledge, which is the a-pillar? Yes, it is less hassle like I stated in the other thread!

Re: Rattles??
the a-pillars are the vertical pillars of the car on either side of the windshield, at the front.. B-pillars are the ones in the middle which house seatbelts etc, c-pillars are either side of the rear window etc.

Thanks Doogie! I didn't realize the a-pillars came off so easily! Tell me something else, was it obvious that the headliner was rattling? Mine doesn't appear to be touching at the windshield. Also, on your FA post, in this diagram

where does that additional piece of foam go, right under the clip, or on top?

It'll all become obvious when you take off the door panel. Since I posted that, I went back and applied a small square of the same weatherstripping from the second post on the top of each one of the clips. For some of the clips, it just doesn't make much difference, for others, there is a small plastic spine behind where the clip goes that causes the rattling. I just applied the weather-strip foam (it has a sticky back) to the backs of ALL of the clips. Man I really wish I'd taken some photos of this when I was doing it.
And yeah, my roof liner was making a buzzing/rattling sound right above my face which I could stop by smacking or moving the liner a little. It wasn't a bad rattle but when the doors were quiet it was a lot more obvious.

...in case I didn't explain it well, imagine the clips being nails. You'll apply a small square of foam padding, the same size as the flat head of the nail, onto the flat head. That's all there is to it. Like I said as you dig into it it'll all become a lot more obvious.
Buy a bunch of weatherstripping (I went thru 3 rolls), some electrical tape, and a yard or so of black felt (for wrapping around all the wires in the door) and spend plenty of time doing it right. Don't rush, just wrap and pad everything well and you'll be golden. If I get a chance this weekend I'd love to take the panel off one of the front doors and snap some pictures for you guys.
