Question Need help! What would be a good deal?

I am one of the latest to join the Infinity G35 Fan club!
I test drove a 2003 Black G35 with 77K miles. All the maintenances done (as claimed by this infinity dealer). I got it checked by my mechanic and he says all it needs is rear rotors (pulsations while breaking noticed). Other than that the vehicle is good to go. The car has premium and aero package and all the regular features. Tires are good for 10-12K Miles easily (of course depending on how i drive )
The dealer has quoted $16K and I offered him $13500 (without the rotor being fixed) which he did not accept saying he was looking anything close to 15K and we shook hands as I walked out.
What do you think would be the fair price ? I am based around Seattle.
Any suggestions will be helpful.... I kinda like G35s and wanna get one soon

Not a very good deal IMHO, also I'd be looking for 05-06 with 6mt, REV, LSD...

$15k is not really the best deal in the world when buying from a dealership, you still have to pay tax/title/document fees. I would say $14,500 + them replacing your rotors/pads. But again that's considering how bad you want the G, if you want it, get it!

Look in an auto trader. If you go through the dealer you have too much extras.
Car $15000
Plate transfer $10
Registration $180
Title $150
Tax $900

OTD $16,240

it's not too bad but i will keep looking if i were you.. no kidding i went to 8 different dealers, 2 in another state before i settled on my car.
I got my 2004 G35x with navi 73k miles for $14000($15700 with tax and fees)
oh, have the dealer show you the reciept for the maintenance work they claim to have done. My dealer show it to me without even asking.

remember they want ur business more than anything.

Good Luck

Thanks!

Thanks for all the inputs guys!! You guys rock!
The dealer has called me back and offering the car for 14500 with the car Fixed (Replacing rear rotors).
I am so much in limbo whether to look around or go for this. I like this car. Also have been looking around for over a week and didn't find any car for this amount in Black
2004 g35x 73Kmiles with navi for 14k is a great deal! Wonder how i am unable to find such a killer deal
You guys think with the economy being down, dealers will sell for less ?

The thing is that they have to make some kind of profit.

offer them $14k and replace the rear rotors yourself, its not hard, plus you'll get to know your car in the process.

Smile Thanks everyone!

Thanks for your help and suggestions and your offer to check the VIN Playboy
I bought the car for $13700 i.e. 15100 OTD I figured i could have looked around more, but prolly didn't have the patience + there were lesser black 35s available around (not even 100 miles away).
I pick it up tomorrow morning after they also fix the pulsations! They are not gonna replace the rear rotors, but mill (machine) the pads or do something so that the pulsations stop and not just for 2-3 days but for a few months atleast
I will post my car's pictures on the pictures thread of the forum and will be as active on this forum as possible Excited to drive my "new ultimate driving machine".
I used to own a bimmer, but i must say I am equally or actually more excited!
You guys rock.

Congrats!!! you did good, saving 15% off the quoted price.... now enjoy the car
sometimes driving from dealer to dealer is just not worse the few hundred that you might save

btw if you get much snow in your neck of the woods, consider snow tires

Thanks!

Thanks!! I just love this car... drove around.... did an evil turn on 1st gear (triptronic) and went to 6500 RPM.. and was pretty good. i think i will get tyres changed in couple months..maybe snow..maybe better ALL Seasons..lets see.

Yeah you are right. somtimes its just not worth it. I might have saved some money but wouldnt have gotten a black with alll black tinted and aero kit.. exactly the same way i found here

Now i am again wondering whether should i buy extended warranty. This warranty includes everything and has specifically listed the excluded items. I have to read the fine print now.... any suggestions -- is usually extended warranty worth it? 2 options i have is 3 yr/36000 mile for 2500+ tax or 5 year/50000 for 2800 + tax.
