Noob, got some questions.....

I have been reading, but I may buy a G tomorrow so I wanted to see if I could have a few questions answered.

I know this is a G board but I am stuck between a G and TL. Looking at a 2004 on each model.

There are several G's around my area and some are X models. Is it worth getting this? What are the plus/minus of getting this? I will be selling my A4 which is a Quattro, how does it compare?

How are G with age/mileage?

Any thing to look out for? Any years to avoid?

What kind of real world mileage are people seeing with at standard and X model?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

Bimmerman driving A4??
Search some more and read some more, all those questions have been asked before. Your gas milage with the "x" will be less, not by much.

I started using this username many years ago and have kept using it so I do not have 100 different log in to all of the forums I visit.

I skimmed through it but was looking to get some quick advice since we looking trying to make a decision today. Looks like we are going to go with a TL instead.

All the questions have been answered before. We don't care which one you go with as long as you pick the right car for you. A person buying a car does not "skim" through valuable information that could directly affect the final purchase.

not sure if you've made a purchase, but you may want to pm Kuneff.

I have no problem with that because it is for my wife and it is not like she will be racing it.

I just felt better about buying the TL used than I did the G.

My 05 X gets an average of 20 mpg and I do drive it enthusiastically!! I have not driven my X in the snow yet and depending on where you live and snow the FWD might be a more practical choice. Either way you can't go wrong with either vehicle. They are both solid choices.

Yea I liked the idea of the G35X, but a friend of mine is a tech at the dealer and said they are great cars but if the AWD on the G ever has any issue it cost a ton to fix.

I think the TL will be better suited for my wife any way, plus she likes the looks of it over the G.

Proud owner of G35

I actually own an 04 G35x. X just has the awd vs. the rear. Def pick the G of the TL. I was in the same comparison. TL is front wheel drive and 60-40 front heavy. And if you like to go fast the G is def. where its at. Much quicker. easliy keep of with mustang GTS if not smoke em.

for the wife I say get the TL... i have driven my '04 G35 (obviously) and also a '04 TL... the TL is more momish in my opinion. it definately wasnt as peppy/sporty/quick... this wasnt the type s, just the regular TL.. the TL drove nice and smoothe and i did enjoy driving it, but i like my G35 sedan more, only because imo i feel like my sedan is more sporty. the TL was just too momish to me. so since its for you wife, i say get the TL.

Acura still builds some great cars, but this year they have WAY over-designed everything in the line-up!

04-06 TL.... meah....
08 TL Type S w/ 6MT FTW!!! Cept that it is an electronically regulated clutch, so you lose the direct feeling that you have in other cars with std trans...
09 TL Type ANYthing = FUGLY!!!
