o2 censor
o2 censor
well bought the car 2 weeks ago, and after a week of driving the check engine light came on at the same time my gas light came on telling me i was empty, i filled the tank and the light didnt go away. So i went back to the place i bought it and the guy ran the code and turned out it was an o2 censor, so he deleted it. never came back until today once my gas light came on telling me i was empty, so as i was passing by autozone i decided to stop and have them run the code, and agian it was the o2 censor (he said it was the one in the front? near the manifold)
so can this be a serious problem? or is it something to do with my gas?

the one off the exhaust manifold (sensor 1, or upstream) is a critical sensor... when it fails the ECU stays in open loop and richens the a/f mixture which kills performance, gas mileage and emissions... unfortunately they aren’t cheap and its not as easy to get to as the 2nd sensor after the cats...
so, yes - get it replaced...
I recently had sensor 2 fail and so long as the front sensor stays good I'm holding off on replacing for now.
BTW, this is posted in the wrong section… should be here: https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust-23/
