Auto Lights

It seems like every light is completly off when in auto mode in the daytime. Is there a way to have the daytime running lights on when in auto mode in the day time?

Re: Auto Lights

If you car was sold in Canada it comes with DRL standard.
But if you say the lights stay off when in Auto during day then it's safe to say you don't have DRL.

Why would you want it anyways? IMHO it does more harm than good. I hate those people who forget to turn on their main lights at night, you see LOTS of em in Toronto.

Re: Auto Lights

That's the point. I want DRL in the daytime and full regular lights at night. That's what I would expect "Auto" to do.

That's how my lexus RX300 works for the Auto setting.

Re: Auto Lights

If you have a US car, then it doesn't have DRL.

Re: Auto Lights

Yeah, Lexus, Toyotas and more recent Mitsubishis all come with DRL standard for both US n Canada.

I guess since it's not required by law in US, Infiniti decided not include DRL for US market.

This raises a point though: In many states you have to have your lights on if the wipers are working! I hope the Auto Light is sensitive enough to turn on when sky turns grey? I yet to experience this.

Re: Auto Lights

Some cars are actually programmed to turn on the headlights when in auto mode when you turn on the wipers.

Not ours. However, the sensor is set to be fairly sensetive from the factory. Mine will sometimes click the lights on and back off going under an underpass.

Why not just turn your headlights on during the day?

Re: Auto Lights

I have a feeling that turning on headlights with you wipers may be coming from Nissan/Infinit. I recently received a survey which was obviously aimed at pricing the M45 which included that feature as an option.
