^^^ yep, for sedan it's probably the best option.

The price they are listing is what it cost years ago when I got mine... I think it’s about $300 cheaper than it usually sells for these days.

Anyone looking to get Stillen Gen 1 or 2, I'd jump on the price now.

*I have nothing to gain by this, so don’t think this thread is a marketing ploy for Stillen or anything like that.

It sounds great and the gains are solid. Also, only catback for AWD!

If you cant get it new wait for it used. Got mine for $500 on the marketplace

Directly from Stillen's site...

Either generation of these stainless steel cat-back exhaust systems will increase your sedan's performance (03-06 versions 21-23 hp and 21-23 lbs ft. of torque
How close is this to being true? I'll even take 'half-truth.'

The Borla is the same price and it has nicer tips. Why would anyone get Stillen?

Stillen sounds closer to stock, just a little louder at WOT

Borla has a much different tone, nice, deep ....just different sound altogether

you must be referring to coupe or Stillen Gen 2... Gen 1 sounds nothing like stock.

I'd post clips, but it’s with HFC and headers so it wouldn’t be a good indicator.

Over the years, I've seen dynos and raced other sedans and researched quite a bit... and have seen data from detailed research regarding exhausts... for the sedan Stillen is a very good (if not best) choice.

exact numbers are hard to determine – but it’s doubtful any unaltered dyno will show those gains – half maybe... I had gains from day one - but I've done soooo many other things since the exhaust install, my car is hard to use as an example... I wouldn’t expect a bunch of gains from exhaust alone – but in conjunction with supporting mods this works well.

If you want a free flowing exhaust that sounds aggressive this is a good choice... all the breather mods I've done in conjunction with gen 1 have responded very well.

From what I have seen the Stillen does show some decent gains but nothing close to 20hp, more like ~10-12 at most. Stillen always advertises these high numbers with all their parts and falls short when it comes time to prove it. The reason they do that is because most of their customers are not the forum or car club guys like us who try to see if they can prove it. They buy, install and call it a day.

Please know I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Stillen or their products. I have owned lots of them. I'm just saying don't trust their power increase numbers...

I have heard both of these exhausts many times and I like the sound of the borla a lot better. The Stillen just sounds strange to me, it sounds like turbulent air more than a tuned exhaust note. The downfall to the borla is that it does not make as much power as the Stillen. Expect ~5-8hp from the borla.

+1
It does show gains and a good exhaust is a crucial part of the puzzle for any modded G.
