OEM 17's (photoshopped) black... thoughts?

I can't really afford new wheels/tires at the moment, but at $60/wheel powder-coating looked interesting to me. So here's my attempt at a photoshop of my OB sedan with the OEM 17's blacked out. I suppose though the center cap and lugs would still be silver.

Thoughts?

it's ok, but you would need to black out the chrome around the windows and door handles...

Here is a photoshop of my car.... I already have the handles done, but this would be the rims and window trim...

You can spray paint the center caps...that's what I did. You can also pick up some Muteki black tuner lugs for like $40 shipped.

I like it...do it!

Looks good if you also black out all the chrome trim. If not, it looks very out of place.

From a safety perspective, the less visible your car, the higher the potential for not being seen by others. Given this, a completely black car (i.e., removing all other colors) is an indirect invitation to be in an accident. Insurance industry research clearly indicates that certain car colors are involved in more accidents: black is in the top 3.

Having "shoveled" many a body into a coffin from the ER, my perspective may be different than yours. I can't describe the sensation of seeing someone (especially a younger person) brought into ER, already dead, or seriously injured, because being "cool" was more important than being alive. I also can't describe the difficulties of telling parents, siblings, a girlfriend, wife or even children, that their loved one died b/c "black is bad ***" and "cool". So, I speak as a hopefully a "wiser" person (one who is >1/2 century old) than when I was <30 years old and someone who has witnessed the results of "cool" more than most. Not trying to be difficult, just want to introduce another view.

Good point, maybe I should go all yellow then? Maybe add more reflectors and a fluorescent flag?

OEM 17"s, painted black with clearcoat, hand painted center caps.

These are my winter wheels, so my chrome ones stay nice.

For the stock 17s, I really wouldn't bother. Maybe I'd do it to a set of Coupe 17s. They're a similar style, but they're wider and the spokes poke a bit more.

Save your $240 + cash needed to dismount/remount tires. If anything, put it towards the A34 Maxima Nismo wheels. 19s, silver, a little lip, forged, cheap as hell.

The only expensive part will be tires...
