Re: would you guys buy a loaner car?

It's like buying a rental car. It might have been abused.

That said, if you want it, you should be able to get it for less than a comparable single-owner used car. It's hard to say if that's a decent price, as you haven't told us what year the car is or what options it comes with. Use a site like kbb.com or edmunds.com to figure out the dealer retail price for the car.. and the price you get back would be the highest you'd want to pay for a single-owner car.

If you do go for it, and you know it's a loaner, I'd seriously consider an extended warranty. It might be a good car, though. Heck, my other vehicle (an Expedition) I bought used, and it was a lease car. Not the same as a loaner or rental, but still I supposed some people don't treat lease cars well.

I would not buy a loaner car. I think those vehicles get too much abused. Not by everyone but once in a while some people certainly do run them hard.

Can you find out for sure if it was a loaner or it was not?

it's an 03, winter package, bose. the only reason i think it's a loaner is because I ran a carfax and there was only 1 owner and it was never registered as personal use. it's also a clean title.

NO..... Everything that I have been afraid to do in my G35 sedan I did in the loaner, crazy shifting, peeling out, taking hard turns, accleration,... the works...

I dunno what to tell you. Ordinarily I'd say no way. But that's a cheap price for a car that's under the bumper-to-bumper warranty for about 3 more years and 47K more miles. It's not like it's a Grand Prix loaner. Now that would be friggin' scary.

I got an '03 with 23K miles for $27,000 even. Ask the dealer what they would be willing to do if you found out it had some serious problems. Or you could ask to take it to a shop to have it checked out.

Re: would you guys buy a loaner car?

Get it if you will get rid of it on or around the warranty expiration date! It's a heck of a deal! Dealers usually declare Demos or Loaner cars they have for sale as such so ask them about it.

These cars are built to last for a good while! Though certainly abusing the car reduces it's life but as long as you are under warranty you will avoid most of the costly repair costs. Just make sure you have it checked out and get everything (if any) fixed as soon as you can under warranty.

Good luck

I beat the carp out of rentals and loaners.

I didn't realize the loaners had fish in them, I'll take a rod and reel next time!

I would never buy a loaner car, the thing has been abused. Who doesn't abuse the loaners? You do things in those that you would never do in your own car.

Re: would you guys buy a loaner car?

I don't know.. I drive my own car pretty hard once or twice a month. I've never pushed a loaner hard enough to slide sideways to a stop from 40mph.
