Im planing on doing this mods. and do some of the above mods too. but i wont take out my back tires, I hear u loose traction.



Biggest weight reduction you can do is in one part...

Flywheel and Clutch...

Put in a tilton flywheel and clutch it is like removing 400lbs of mass on the car...

Next would be the 350Evo Final Drive Gear... Larger Ratchet makes it easier to turn something... Larger gear makes it easier for power to get to the rear wheels (engine works less)...

Do those to mods it is like a 700lbs weight reduction...

Sprung weight (Wheels / Tires) will help acceleration performance as well as Suspension performance...

Removing tons of weight from the back (spare etc) can result in the rear end being loosey goosey in the corners... Try to loose weight on the front of the car more then the rear its light enough there...

CF Hoods... OEM hood is 14lbs... CF Hoods can weight more... most weight about the same... The Fuzion hood with plastic scoop cover removed weights about half a pound less then stock...

Racing Seats will lower weight of the car... If you can get your seats lower then you will be placing weight of the car closer to the ground making the center of gravity lower resulting in better cornering...

Long story short... Bigest weight droppers dont drop much physical weight but more remove resistance on the motor / drive train to increase overall performance...

all the money I have spent has greatly reduced the weight of my wallet. Forged wheels help too..

my muffler delete and Z middy alone dropped like 80lbs those things are super heavy

Going from oem wheels to track 18's made a difference for sure, I was really suprised at the difference. 26lbs compared to 18lbs. Shaved 32 pounds off in total...this is mainly why i bought them and they are forged stock wheels value at 6k from the dealer lol. Car feels faster off the line for sure.

theoem 17's 7-spoke on blizzak ws60 225/55 weighed ~50lbs on my scale -.-

Really, one of the biggest weight reductions is running on empty. 20gal of fuel isn't exactly light.

say good bye to your back seats, spare tire, trunk/ interior carpeting, lightweight battery...etc but that doesn't really look that good unless you were to put a thin black blanket back there or something...

The OEM Cats weigh a TON! i dont think the rear seat or trunk liner and carpet are going to help as much but every little bit DOES count. I agree a full tak of gas can weight up to 120lbs @6lbs/gal.

I have my alignment set to a 1/2 tank of gas. This is a good compromise for me between a rear that is too light for grip and weight reduction. Although, this is still being fulling tested.

We had several events in the rain earlier this season and 1/4 tank was too low. I got lots of slipping whereas 1/2 tank worked well. If I was doing pure dry events I'd probably drop down to 1/3 tank...but as I said, still testing.

I take a big dump before I drive. ~5 lbs.

My borla cat back is WAY lighter than the oem exhaust. And with my coupe 19s on michelins, I don't think I've added any weight over my cast 17s and tires. Hell I think my crawford V5 plenum is lighter than the oem one.

The doors and quater panels are pretty heavy.
