definately smoked corners over clear for a black car. you can paint them black like nathanjax did too. my friend did the same but to his taillights on his scion xb, and it looks awesome. they will be dark(like your paint), but when the light is on, it will shine through

Smoked bumper lights go well with headlights that are also smoked/painted/tinted.

An insurance rep would tell you that a black car with darkened lights is an invitation to be hit/not seen. Their research clearly suggests that darker cars, especially black ones, have the highest accident rate. Now just add youth... speed.... a little bit of ego and the need to be cool and there's your perfect recipe. I'd rather be alive and safe than cool and dead/injured/in an accident. All this to say.... darkened might be cool, but it's hardly practical or useful.

I agree with you, but different strokes for different folks. I see this all the time, the tinted headlight cover, and tail lights. While the light will still shine through at night it won't be nowhere as bright as if it were clear. Like you said it's a perfect receipe for an accident at night, but who's going to listen to that when they're trying to mod their cars for looks/performance? I guess it's like gambling. You do it and hope for the best outcome.

Mine are painted black inside and tinted on the outside. They look very dark but you can still see the strip of LED's very well when they are lit.

Can't get to photobucket at work so can't post a pic right now.

^ No tints on any lights. Everything is painted.
