Another minor change:
Anyone notice they reversed the gas gauge & temp gauge locations?

I was looking at the big interior picture from here and it looks like there is going to be an option to turn off the passenger side air bag.

Re: "Official" 2005 Changes

deadman: I think nuttyprof says the current sedans are already at or close to 277chp because of the dynos that have been done on stock G35s. IIRC many 6mt sedan dynos have put down around 220 - 225 rwhp. Assuming a 18% drivetrain loss that would put the crank hp at around 270-275 thus Infiniti underrating their brochure numbers. That would make sense since they probably wanted to distinguish the coupe and sedan. But like you said it will be interesting to see what changes are made to the G and the Z power wise and if we could use those parts in our cars.

Re: "Official" 2005 Changes

IIRC someone stated that the passenger side airbag was going to be weight sensitive now. Maybe the little indicator you found is for that purpose.

And I agree, the FX wheels look great. I am not sure why they under rated them by 1.5". Probably two reasons - 20" is a nice round number, and at 21.5" people might start thinking "WTF - I bet tires for those are gonna be OUTRAGEOUS!!!"

Re: "Official" 2005 Changes

I got my G35 a little over a month ago. It never entered my mind to consider waiting for the 05' model. In hindsight, I am pleased I didn't. I think that most of the changes are insignificant at best and won't impact resale numbers greatly. The HP increase, instrument panel changes are not major. I think the new center console does look slick however.
The verdict is still out on the exterior. We need more pix! IMO, the wheels are definitely better looking on the older models and the new front bumper and taillights will probably make the sedan look more like every other car on the road. The aero side moldings are a big plus though.
Overall, I absolutely love the unique exterior looks of the older sedans and am happy that they will stand out for years to come.
Oh yeah, I'm probably one of the few people out there who is delighted to have gotten a cassette in the head unit standard. I use a 20gb Nomad Jukebox Mp3 player with it. The FM transmitters just don't cut it.
That's my 2 cents.

Yes you do have a point there and all but I still think Infiniti is going to be doing something in the sedan to make more power. What I am guessing is maybe the might re-tune the ecu to make the care get more power.

I wonder if they change the rear. The back of the sedan is the part that really needs a redesign. The front end change was probably done just for cost reduction. It will look ok if you dont mount a front license plate though.

Re: "Official" 2005 Changes

Did anyone else notice that the pics of the new M45 showing the tail light assembly clearly have a slight 'bulge' similar to the side view of the 05 G35.
If that is how the new tail lights are going to look I am all for it.
