MREV 2 with 1/2" MD plenum spacer

I'ver been doing a lot of research on the MREV 2 and plenum spacer for a '05 6MT sedan. It seems that most people are using the 5/16" spacer but I was wondering if anyone is using the 1/2" spacer. The 1/2" spacer is supposed to give the car a meaner tone. My main concern is will the engine cover still fit with the 1/2" spacer, I know it will with the 5/16" one? Thanks in advance.

Why are you going with the 1/2"? I value the balanced power delivery of the 5/16 over any kind of tone difference offered by a larger sized spacer.

Yeah, the cover should fit in the sedan regardless of if you're using the 5/16 or the 1/2.

Read up a bit on the motordyne website as well, they're is a lot of great info on there which should make your decision easier

Go with whichever seems better for what you want. The 1/2" is supposed to take a tad more from the bottom but give you a tad more at the top. The 5/16" is supposedly a little more even. The differences are going to be minimal though.

the 5/16 will go on with out any problems or modifications.. unlike the 1/2 where your gonna have to change your strut bars because they will no longer fit. Go with the 5/16...

^^^ what makes you think he has a strut bar?... and if he does, it depends on which one = many will fit with 1/2"… and the cover will fit too – but I don’t know many ppl that keep a full cover on – and not sure why anyone would.

OP - its highly doubtful you will notice the difference between the 2 when driving. I challenge anyone to disagree... I think even Tony would admit it’s not likely you would "feel" the difference.

I use 1/2" with a modified lower collector similar to MREV2... with lots of other breather mods - the combo I have has been very successful.

The majority of people that will tell you to get 5/16" won’t even have a valid reason for it... they see that most ppl do, so it must be the way to go. Additionally, there are some dyno charts that show 5/16" giving slightly better mid range - however, like most mods it will depend on other combination of breather mods... I have very respectable peak trq and mean avg trq (better then most I've seen on many dynos) – and top end is good too... I’ve been fortunate to make the right choices that resulted in above avg trq and hp… so dont necessarily buy into the better mid stuff (unless its basically a stock engine with minimal other mods).

Plan your mods and goals, and research what you intend to do - depending on your plan you may chose one over the other.

If you intend to keep it minimal, truly either size spacer will be fine.
