Loaner car dismay

Just got 08 g35 base loaner car and there are no words to describe the condition of the car. 08 with various damages, ranging from broken rear cup holder to minor damage to the right front+ rear fender, wow, how can this be? its an 08 w/ 11,xxx, and it shows wear and tear of an 04 ( no offense for anyone with 04).

I've always had good loaners. I don't know what is wrong with the people that go to the dealership, to have destroyed a newish car like that.

Condition of the vehicle is usually and indicator of the owner or people using them. So for there to be that much wear and tear usuallly means whoever has it just doesn't care.

When you get someone who does give a damn about their car, they tend to look newer than they are. I'm sure you've all looked inside certain cars 5+ years old and commented on how well kept it is.

key word "LOANER" some people just don't respect loaners and that's what happens. That won't be a problem if they (dealers) treated loaners like rentals and document all damage prior to use and after each use, thus holding the individual financially responsible for all damages on return.

Put it this way, when was the last time you washed a loaner?

Mine is a 2003.5 and I don't have single scratch, dent or ding and the interior is spotless--looks brand new.

Just saying.....

btw I hate how people abuse the loaners.

Hence the reason why we LEASE the loaners, and loaners are not eligible for certification. We do maintain the loaners, but we cannot be held responsible for people abusing them...

Loaners usually will end up at public auction and eventually at other dealerships (like CarMax).

When I had the engine rebuilt in my 1964 MGB back in 1971, the old German Master Mechanic gave my his 1947 VW oval window to drive. It was black and had 25 hp. IT WAS A BLAST!

I think my car was a loaner. Its a base model RWD with just a sunroof that was bought at auction and sold at a nissan dealer up north. And the worst part is, the window sticker says FLEET.

Makes me nervous.
