The dealership will NOT do the job as thoroughly as I will and I'm wanting to go over virtually everything that can cause noise to enter the cabin. Also, people without warranty left will hopefully benefit from us doing this and finding out the most common problem area. Now on the other hand, the rattling from the rear deck is driving me batty and I probably will take it in to be looked at. I think removing everything to find that one will be a job.
Just a thought, do you have SAT radio in your car? I know the cars are prewired for it, but do you have the actual receiver?

If that's the case, I think the wire for that might be rattling around while you drive. That was the issue in my car, and just securing that cuts down on one of the annoying rattles the G comes with.

Is this a common problem??

My car is silent at highway speed. I commute at 80MPH routinely and with the radio off there is zero wind noise.

I think it's pretty common. There's no way I can use the built-in bluetooth on the highway; I have to be like 50 mph or below. I also hear a lot of road noise coming through the floor and even the back wheel wells when going through light sand/gravel and even rain.

I think our cars aren't very soundproof so that the driving experience inside the car will be enhanced. Like being able to hear the engine/intake or exhaust a bit more than the average car. Even my Nissan Frontier crewcab is way quieter. I'll be doing some sound deadening on my G this summer.

i agree with you. I took my g to the dealership and they did everything to truncate the noise problem but failed. I still hear wind and road noise, thus i gave up in discovering any solution to this common problem with our g35's. I still love my g, but i am thinking about replacing my g for a lexus gs350.

Hoss, I did in fact fix the rear window. It was a night and day difference. The noise was coming in essentially the same spot as it was on the front door. Just getting the two drivers side doors done made a huge difference. I've been tied up recently but I hope to get back to doing the other doors for good measure and still try and get rid of some of the noise found elsewhere. I don't have SAT radio so im not sure of the wire making the noise in the back but im thinking its something connected to the body of the car. I say this because if I'm driving and one of the front tires drops into a pot hole or something even at a creeping speed it will make the noise. Even backing out of my driveway i'm turning left and the right rear tire is the first to drop off from the driveway onto the road which is lower and it will make the noise. Its more of something under stress thats loose rather than just a rattle. When I make it around to tackling more noise, I will post back to tell everyone

I had a similar problem with mine as well when I had it still. I have a GS350 now and had a slight wind noise from the side mirrors and it was taken care of under warranty. Lexus paid to replace both side mirrors
