Cruise Control Issues

Has any experienced any issues with the cruise control? Mine will set only when the car is first being driven (first 5-10 minutes) once it warms up the cruise control will no longer set. I have taken it to the dealer twice to no avail, they keep saying they haven't had any problems with it and it must be me. Even after I drove the very unexcited to be there tech all over town showing him the problem. I will be taking it in again tomorrow and would like to know if anyone had any ammo or information I could use when I get there.

I have heard of aftermarket pedals affecting CC. Do you have
original pedals?

Re: Cruise Control Issues

After I got my rotors resurfaced, I realized that my cruise no longer worked either. However if I lifted the brake pedal with my shoe, the cruise would engage... and I do not have aftermarket pedals, the same OEM that came with the car 33.5K ago. I waiting for a part on backorder, once they get it in, I will report the no cruise control issue to them, and get them to resurface my rotors again... still getting vibration when applying brakes at highway speeds.

Re: Cruise Control Issues

I have OEM pedals, I will try the lifting the pedal trick today and see if that does it. I hate going in to get it worked on they can never duplicate the problem on their own and tell me nothing is wrong. I always tell them that the car has to warm up but they never listen. On my last service sheet they told me that they drove a 20 mile test drive in 5 minutes, that is FAST! I obviously knew they were full of crap.

Re: Cruise Control Issues

Sure, my dealer always takes my car out for a spin similar to yours, you know, a 20 mile drive in 5 minutes - after all, that's ONLY 240 MPH!!

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Re: Cruise Control Issues

I have issues with my Cruise control too.
1) Cruise control light is on but won't allow me to set?
2) Cruise control can not turn turn on at all?
3) works for the first 20 minutes and then 'set' light starts to flash all the way home for the next 45 minutes. Won't allow me to cancel or disable until I restart the engine again.

Its going in to my dealer for a check up today.

Re: Cruise Control Issues

That is exactly what mine is doing. I drove a bit yesterday trying to perfect the problem and found that if I set it once and let it cruise for a few minutes and then cancel it by braking I cannot resume or reset it at any time until I restart the car.

Glad to know that I am not the only one. The dealer has been completely unwilling to fix it saying that they have no known cruise control issues. What a bunch of crap.

I take mine in at noon Pacific time today, I will let you know what they fix and what they do.

Re: Cruise Control Issues

YES!! I had a great tech this time and he was actually very polite and did not make me feel like I was a nuisance. He was able to figure out the problem in the car and is repairing it now.

Apparently there was a bulletin a while back about a switch/brake controller and it was apparently set incorrectly so the cruise control believed that even when the brake was not being pressed that it was. If I took my left foot and pulled the brake pedal out it would set again. Otherwise it would not because it believed I was pushing the brakes. Make sense?

Only thing that sucks it my loaner is an I35 I think, it sure doesn't have the same ***** as my G!!

Re: Cruise Control Issues

Any Chance you have the TSB number?

Re: Cruise Control Issues

I will ask for all the TSB numbers tomorrow when I pick the car up. They had to replace the suspension links also to get rid of that strange noise, everyone has commented on. I was supposed to have the car today but won't have it until tomorrow, sucks this I35 has no ***** and is not even the same thing as a G.
