ummm... no. you didn't say that. But I did point out that there are numerous factors. Back when I stated it was a "rule of thumb" and how an '04 could only be worth $1k less than an '05 if the options weren't the same or the '04 was low miles or the '05 was high miles.

Ah, yes. Let's take a valid statement and put it in extreme context so it seems outrageous. That's productive.

OK, so dealer X is selling an '05 G35X for $22k but dealer Y has an identical car 20 miles away advertised for $19k. By your reasoning, dealer X's car MUST be worth $3k more, right? You are a salesperson's wet dream.

Like I said, there is nothing wrong with that. Obviously, there are plenty of people who would pay the difference. Its all up to the buyer and what they prefer. I didn't start the discussion to debate the value of the differences, only to (try to) straighten out those who incorrectly think they are so closely valued.

I mean, c'mon. $1k difference for a model year? Yeah, '08s are only going for $5k more than '03s.

eh... ya know what? Let me try this from a different angle, because here I am defending the values of the '05s and getting no love from the '05 owners...

There are a few folks here telling you '05 owners that your cars are so horrible compared to the '04s that, while every other used car in its class and pricerange sees a ~$2500-$3k bump from one year to the next, the '05 is ONLY worth $1k more than the '04. Do you believe that to be the case?

I think it's hilarious how worked up you are. Seriously, keep trying to back-peddle and make senseless claims.

Blah, blah, blah.

Sincerely,

Hey guys. I pulled the trigger tonight. It was from a specialty dealer in Ohio and I did my research on them. They had over 500 buyer reviews on Ebay and all of them were 100% positive. The CarFax was perfect - no accidents, flood damage, no reports of any kind. I ended up getting the exact car I wanted ('05 G35x, dark gray with light gray interior, loaded) with 15,000 fewer miles than all comparably priced cars I found here in Colorado.

I'm very excited! Thanks for all of your input!

Very nice! Our cars are almost identical (I bought mine right after T-Giving), except you've got the Stone? interior, I have Graphite (your sheet says Graphite, but it's not correct. Graphite is black.) The Diamond Graphite never looks dirty, but when it's clean it's really sharp (as you saw when you picked it up).

It is a sweet ride. You'll really like the I-key. I had remote start for the first time on my last car, and I swore I'd always have it, but it's expensive to install on the G with the I-key, so I didn't get it. Now I'd rather have that than remote start! I live in snow country like you (Northern MI), and I can tell you the car is toasty warm. I rarely need the heated seats, and 61-63 degrees is plenty for me.

BTW, I spoke with Cleveland Motors whenI was looking in the Fall. Seemed like good people, they just didn't have what I was looking for.

Thanks for your comments. I don't actually pick it up until next week so it's great to hear!
