Ok...I have a 03 sedan with a spoiler but also has the inner third brake light in the rear window (which is not hooked up). When I step on the brake the brake lights sometime lights up fine (nice and bright like they should) but then sometimes they light up very dim (brighter than regular park light but not as bright as they should). When this happens my VDC, SLIP and ABS lights come on. I read some threads saying that it could be low brake pads and fluid..but i checked that....and i dont see how that could effect the brake lights...

Any ideas?

 

I fixed the problem. It was one of the brake switches attached to the brake pedal. Bought it at the dealer for about $40 and replaced it. Good as new.
