running staggered tires with the X minus the fuse
I just picked up 350z track wheels and they are 235/35 and 265/35. I have a g35x, i did the tire calcautor and it shows up total diameter being 24.5in and 25.3in.
Understanding that the front wheels are going to rotating more then the rear I think this is enough to trigger the AWD light. Tread on these tires are about 50% so maybe i'll run 2 summers with them.
My question is if i pull the AWD fuse should i be ok in terms of the mechanics of the car? Or is the diffrent so little that i should be able to drive it with the fuse in? I know there is SOME level of tolerance. Rather then waste money on getting proper tires now i figure i can wait and use the rubber thats on already.
One last question when i get the same sized tires most likey 235/35/18, would it be dumb for me to rotate the 8.5 wheels to the front and have the 8.0 in the rear? I figure you should always have the widest wheels in the primary drive wheels. I'm looking for a someone to trade either the 8.5 for the 8.0 or vice versa but chances are slim on that for now.

actually correction on tires they are 235/40 265/40, running non-staggered or staggered tires isn't a concern for me at the moment. I'll look more into that when its my time to buy tires.
if there is a way to run these and not mess up the car then i'll do that for one or two summers. if there isn't then i'll consider it, I'm trying to work with that i have now.
not worrying about the speedo part but the drivetrain.

i'm going to put them on tomorrow and expect to see the light and drive to see if anything stupid happens right away.
So i've been playing around with the numbers and i've came up with this idea.
STOCK tires are 215/55/17
Overall Diameter: 26.31 in
The 265/40/18 in the rears
Overall Diameter: 26.34 in
235/45 would be
Overall Diameter: 26.32 in
225/45
Overall Diameter: 25.97 in
235/40 ( what i have in fronts)
Overall Diameter: 25.40 in
------------------
the 235/40 is what will throw everything off.
So i should either run 235/45 ( like luimpia said ) or 225/45 ( easier to find since its stock Z tires)
Would the 265/40 in 8.5 +35 give me problems when i lower on Z springs? I plan on doing it in the summer.
