Location, location, location. I've found that prices vary a lot depending on where you live. It doesn't hurt to ask, but, comma, - I agree with cars.com and the other ones mentioned. Before I bought my G i looked at cars.com every day. Also carsoup.com is pretty good.
Not to steal this thread but,

What I found when going to look at cars is the integrity of the dealerships. I drove a 350Z at a Nissan dealership in a very upscale neighborhood and it had bald tires, no factory keys, the check engine light was on, it smelled like sulfer, and the salesman said "but it's still under warranty so you can have those things fixed" Another dealer actually told me they bought a lot of California lemon cars because California lemon laws were so liberal the cars were really all in good shape. CarFax, etc is a good tool.

WHY!!! Look around on auto trader and you'll know if you got a good deal.

The same answers are in every thread too
+1 - I think this forum was a much better environment with usefull information back in 03 and 04, where there were no USED G35s around, where everyone just paid $35,000 for new ones. All these constantly repeated threads and used car prices are getting to be annoying.

i agree with this
its really hard and not common to find great condition G35C in the New England area. (Excluding those shady dealers)

Prices definitely vary a lot by region. I did all of my price comparisons on cars.com and autotrader.com and I think I got a pretty average deal. It wasn't the cheapest, but it wasn't the most expensive either. Normally I wouldn't consider my area to be very expensive, but maybe there are fewer G35's around here. There definitely was a limited selction of AWD's. After getting on here I noticed that a lot of people in other parts of the country were picking up similar cars for quite a bit less. Can't really worry about it though cause my car has everything I wanted and I love it.

Plus, the selling point for me was the fact that it was CPO and had an Elite extended warranty. Sure I could have paid less for one from a private seller or Joe Bob's dealership down the road, but after the problems with my last car I wanted some peace of mind with this purchase.

I really don't see too many sedans driving around here, but there seem to be quite a few coupes. It was weird because even though I don't see too many out on the road, there was a decent selection for sale online, just not very many X's. I was originally looking at TL's, but they are really common and I wanted to get something that 5 other people didn't already have sitting out in the parking lot. There are currently two other sedans where I work. One is an 03-04 that is really nice and the other is an 03-04 base model with the 16" wheels (i think) and cloth seats. There are also a couple coupes and a sweet M45 that I would love to own.
