My G is on crack

Well tonight when I went to pick up my step son from his karate class, I started the car in this sequence: started car, released the e-brake, put the car in reverse, pressed the brake gingerly, put car in 1st (at this point still no VDC OFF light, no ABS light, and no SLIP light), I made it all the way home (about 5 miles) and no lights. So I think the damn car is on crack or something. ALthough there are still a couple things that I want to check; the fuse and then the VSS wire behind the ****** just to make sure that it did no break, since I did install the Pioneer AVIC F90BT. I did connect the speed sendor wire for the stereo so that it can tell me that I am speeding when I go 20 over the speed limit. This all started when I had to pull the stereo to check the 12v constant and acc wire, had a problem with the connection. If that is the problem I am going to have to fix that one. Just hoping to be able to fix this issue without bringing it to the shop.

Well it's pretty clear to me that your little stereo modification has messed up the instrument pod display. Remember, this isn't like a sub 2000-era car. The electronics throughout the car are tied to one or more computers. Piggybacking wires and such can mess up these systems. I suggest removing the wire tap and checking all your wiring very throughly.

Huh?

BTW - how does your car know what the speed limit is to tell you when you're 20 mph over?

I am going to pull the VSS connection today when I get home from taking up space here at work, what are they going to do fire me? Getting laid off on Friday anyway.

It can tell me when I am speeding when I hit 20 MPH over the limit due to the stereo (AVIC F90BT), I have it set that way, but that will be going away today.

You should mod you F90bt. Check out avic411.com. I modded mine so I could bypass taping into all this wires. Granted i have a f700bt, but I know you can mod your unit also. Search for hard wire bypass on that forum I mentioned above. The GPS unit will still be able to monitor your speed through the satellite, so your speed warnings will still work without tapping into your cars wires.

Redpit10, that is right I forgot all about that. I already have mine hacked. I can watch movies on the damn thing until I hit 140 mph, but when your going that fast who has time to watchs movies? I am going to disconnect the wire tape after I get home from work today. I also noticed that the lights come on if I use the brake more than gingerly, so if I need to stop really quick, the lights come on. I think that I am going to need a brake job soon. That would be my luck, since I am getting laid off Friday, got a god damn speeding ticket this afternoon (was going to go home for lunch, work is not too far from home), and there is something going on with my G. Comes in 3's, that is my 3rd so my string is done. Just a costly string. Although the cop did not put my speed on the ticket, all he put was exceeding the max speed limit. So that was nice of him, the fu*$ing pr!ck pig. After I find a new job, I am getting a Passport radar detector, screw this crap.

Well I disconnected the speed sensor from the vss wire, did not fix anything, so needless to say that was not the problem. So I took a 4X4 and put 1 end on the brake and the other end at the very bottom of the seat and brought it forward to hold the brake down, checked brake lights, there are none!! So I looked at the brake light fuse, and it was toast. It was actually the stock fuse in there, so I pulled the bad fuse and the spare, replaced the bad with the spare; and bang that was the whole problem the entire damn time, all because of a god damn f'ing fuse. So that is fixed, and speed sensor is reconnected as well.
