My electric fan is loud as hell. It's been this way for as long as I can remember

 

Mine as well.

 

Mine was like that (loud all the time, ac on/off) ,fixed it by replacing my coolant to 30/70 coolant/water mix and i got the nissan 300zx radiator cap instead of the infiniti oem cap. Now the fan only turns on when ac is on or when driving it hard.

 

How can you check to see if the clutch is going on the mechanical fan? Mine sounds like a pick up truck where all you hear if fan.

 

With the engine off, grab it and try to spin it.

If it's bad, it will be hard to spin or not spin at all.
