Water noise after changing the coolant

I replaced the coolant this past Saturday and the car is running fine, no overheating from the radiator. However, today I noticed a kind of swishing water noise under the dash in front of me when I accelerate at low speed only! When I noticed this noise, I moved the gear to neutral and stabbed the gas a couple of times when the car is standing still, the noise is also present, but goes away when I stopped stabbing the gas.

After changing the coolant, I warmed up the engine and switched on the heater to make sure the water traveled throught the heater core. Everything is normal, except for that water noise. Has anyone experieced this funny water noise after you changed the coolant? By the way, is there a provision for bleeding the air after changing the coolant?

hows your heat at idle? should be quite warm, almost uncomfortable with your hand at the center vents. if not, you should bleed your cooling system again. get the yellow coolant funnel.

I have heard these cars, as well as FX's make this noise. heat is hot, and the cars had no other issues. I would deem it to be normal.

Had this right after I bought mine. The coolant had been changed by the dealership and air must have been trapped in the system. There is a bleeder screw on the passenger side towards the back of the engine. Unscrew it and fill up the radiator until the coolant reaches the top of the bleeder valve. I think you are supposed to do this, close everything up and run the engine for a while, let it cool down a bit and then repeat the process. Mine barely needed any added, but it got rid of the noise. I wasn't having any heater or overheating problems either, just the noise.

If you do a search on the forum you might be able to find a picture of the bleeder screw. It's black and takes a phillips head screwdriver.

Many thanks for your help. I see the bleeder screw this morning and I will bleed the air after work today. The owner manual never mentioned bleeding the air even though I was aware of this type of procedure, but I thought this modern system has done away this procedure. Thanks again for the info.

No problem, hopefully it works out for you. By the way, here is the thread I found on here when I had this problem. Texasscout posted a link to the service procedure for removing the air from the cooling system.
