CD player issues

I unhooked the negative battery terminal to bleed the brakes. Ever since hooking it back up, my freaking cd player won't play cd's and won't eject them either. It doesn't ever read any type of error, it just keeps trying to eject the cd and then tells me to press eject and repeats the process. Does one thing have to do with the other or just a coincidence that this unit is now jacked up like the last one I had replaced under warranty 8 mos ago? Lastly, are parts replaced under warranty covered for another year even if the actual warranty is no longer active?

The bose radios in the g's seem very prone to this failure. I doubt they will replace it since the car is out of warranty...otherwise it is like 275 for someone to fix it..

According to the warranty manual, if a CD/Radio/Tape player is replaced under warranty, then the replaced unit is covered under a 12 mo warranty unlimited mileage or the remaining time of the factory warranty, whichever is greater. So in my case, the unit was replaced in Aug 2008. The factory warranty expired in Oct 2008. So the 12 mo warrant is still in effect and the unit will be replaced. The unit should be here in a couple days and installed while I chill in a loaner.

the cd/radio units are known to fail. also, the circuit board (finisher piece with all the controls) can be at fault. this is more rare, but i've done quite a few radio units and still the same symptoms.

I got my Bose unit replaced under warranty about 3 years ago, and it's still working OK to this date (other than the fact that slot #4 cannot take a CD, the CD keeps going in and out so I have to eject it out).

I have only had my 04 G35x for less than 24 hrs before i had to leave it in the airport parking lot while i am on a business trip. So, i haven't even had time to play with this at all, but my stereo says 6 discs but while one disc is loaded and i try and load another it doesnt let me. Could I only have a one disc player or were all bose systems 6 discs?

^ All factory systems in the G35 (Bose or non-Bose) load 6 CDs.

What does the screen of the head unit say when you try to load another CD? Usually it should say "SELECT CD" and you choose slot 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

I like the bose speakers, but my head unit had to get replaced because of the infamous CD ERR FO message
Thank GOD it was still under warranty.
