Check your nuts!!!!

getting ready for a 2,100 mi road trip and decided to clean out the K&N and check the tires, oil ect. out of the 20 lug nuts total I found 7 that were loose enough to turn with my hand also found my spare tire only had 15psi of air in it, so I need to fill that up also. Just giving G35driver a friendly reminder to check your nuts and the spare tire...

Still attached, still working, smooth as a baby's bottom. In the words of Dr. Evil, "There really is nothing like a shorn *******... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it." j/k, hairy.

I can't believe you had 7 lugs that were loose. I've never had a lugnut work loose after it had been torqued down correctly. But good advice, especially on the spare tire pressure.

Nissan in ND were the last people to touch my nuts (lug nuts that is) when they mounted my new tires. I then drove from ND to CA with no problems and I have been all over cali since then, LA, Santa Barbra, Chowchilla, Turlock, San louis obisbo, and back to LA. I figured since I had some free time to inspect the car like I mentioned earlier and found the loose lugs, They are cranked down now... that is for sure... But I still need to inflate the spare...

Anytime my car is serviced, first thing i do when i get home is retorque the wheels with my torque wrench.

80 ft-lbs in a star pattern...recheck 50 miles (highway) later.

Sage advice. I check the lugnut torque any time someone else removes a wheel. You don't want overtorqued lugnuts either, can cause rotor warpage.

I noticed that my nuts were loose too, but I think it's because I don't have AC at work. Doesn't seem to be a problem in the winter though.
