Light modification

Does anyone know where and which parts i can get for the following things:
This is on a 2005 Sedan.
1.The rear signal tail lights to be LED kind of like the BMW.
2. Reverse lights to be LED, kind of like the new Cadillac.
3. License Plate LED light, kind of like the Lexus.

Would Pep Boys or Autozone have these parts?

Thanks to whoever answers

Pep Boys or Autozone will not have the parts you're looking for.

Click here for the license plate LEDs.
Send JDMAutosports (Ryan) a message. He'll hook you up with some pure white LEDs for a good price.

These can also be installed in the reverse lights, but they won't illuminate brighter than your stock lights. So light output when you're in reverse will diminish.
But, you can purchase some multiple high powered SMT bulbs here.
These, will be very bright and are actually brighter than stock reverse lights.

Turn signals will be a little tougher if you have no electrical background.
Since LEDs draw so little power, whenever you replace a turn signal bulb (or any bulb that's supposed to blink) with an LED, your car will think your bulb is burned out.
As a result, your car won't blink are a normal pace. It will blink at nearly double the speed to notify you that it thinks a bulb is burned out. This is also known as "hyperblinking".
In order to prevent your signals from hyperblinking, you'll need to splice in some resistors to fool your car into thinking there's an OEM bulb installed.
Once you splice in the resistor to the turn signal and ground it, your signals shouldn't hyperblink.

The bulbs I used in my turn signals can be found here.
These are very bright and illuminate much brighter than OEM bulbs.
The resistors I used to splice into my turn signals can be found here.

Hope this helps.

I stuck LED's into my reverse lights. It's true about deminished light output since the reverse light was not designed to be LED. Even with 50w SMD LED's it's still dimmer, but since I live in the city, it's not an issue. Everything is lit up well

Reverse lights aren't there to help YOU see better, they're there to tell other people you're backing up.

Reverse lights indicate to others you're backing up, but they also help you to see what's behind you so you don't hit anything.
Therefore, light output should be taken into consideration or else you risk hitting something while backing up because you couldn't see it in the dark.

But what about light poles, fire hydrants, rocks, trees?? They can't move...so YOU need to be able to see them when you back up.

That's why reverse lights are white. They are "rear headlights"

Toss some HID's in the reverse lights

Interesting, I never thought of them that way. They've never been bright enough to really make a difference, and rear vision is always so much more limited that I couldn't see much anyway. At least nothing near the ground.

OK, learned something today. Thanks.
